Sumter Fire Department Community Projects
Your Fire Department is deeply involved with the community and its citizens. We strongly support our on-going smoke detector program. Firefighters will install smoke detectors sponsored by the City Living Program, Black River Electric Cooperative, Lowe's, Wal-Mart and the SC Fire Association.
Each year we support the youth of Sumter by sponsoring two little league teams. Our firefighters coach these teams as well.
The Sumter firefighters believe in helping our citizens. The Easter Seal program funds are used to assist the citizens of Sumter. Since 1992, we have collected $138,370.75 for Easter Seals.
The Aluminum Cans for Burned Children program helps with burn victims through the Medical University of South Carolina. Since 1989, we have collected $63,118.96.
