| Description: | There will be an open house and an artist talk from 4-5pm on Thursday, June 24th. The gallery is open from 8am-5pm Monday through Friday. Dutch artist Smits came to Sumter because of her husband's job as an exchange pilot at Shaw Air Force Base. She has a background in art restoration; however, her original oils reflect her "passion for nature." Subject matter includes animals and flowers and, she said, express her own "deepest feelings, energy and emotions."
