| Description: | The Palmetto Tennis Center is hosting once again Quickstart Tennis Clinics this summer for children 10 and under. Quickstart tennis is an exciting new format that allows children to achieve success in the sport of tennis at a quicker rate than previous teaching programs. This success is achieved through the use of age appropriate racquet size, court size, and ball speed. Even the net height has been adjusted to accommodate the younger players. Children enrolled in the Quickstart program will have an opportunity to have fun with their friends, while they develop the skills that will be the foundation of their tennis game.
Three separate times are offered for the Clinics throughout the summer months, and will group the children together by age. The first group designed specifically for the younger player ages 4-6 meets every Tuesday from 9:00 AM to 9:45 AM. The cost for this group is $10 per clinic. The second group designed for the slightly older children ranging from 7-8 years old will meet every Tuesday from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. The cost for this group is $13 per clinic. The third group geared towards players ranging from 9-10 years old will meet every Thursday from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. The cost for this group is $13 per clinic.
The PTC will also offer a 4 day Quickstart Tennis Camp July 12-15 from 9:00 AM till 12:00 PM. This camp is designed for children ages 6-10 year old. Once again they will be learning the fundamentals of tennis through the Quickstart program. All players who attend the entire four day program will receive a T-shirt. Cost for the program is only $50, but space is limited so call early to sign-up. Camp registration ends July 7th.
