Sumter Shaw Street Fest 2009 

Friday, September 25th is the 8th Annual Sumter-Shaw Street Fest... a salute to the men and women stationed at Shaw Air Force Base, Progress Energy, FTC and the City of Sumter, is hosting the 8th Annual Sumter/Shaw Street Fest featuring the music of Terence Lonon & the Untouchables and Virtually Unshockable!   Two great bands playing Beach and Motown to Rock’n Roll!  The night will rotate from one band to the next from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. playing a wide variety of music for all ages!   

Come join Sumter’s largest FREE street party ever…everyone is invited!  Sumter/Shaw Street Fest presented by Progress Energy and FTC will take place on Friday September 25th 5:30pm to 10pm. The Street Fest kicks off at 5:30 pm as you walk your way down Main Street and hear the sounds of the talented Lemira Percussion Ensemble. At 6:00pm the festivities gear up when opening ceremonies begin then at 6:15pm the great sounds of Terence Lonon and the Untouchables take the stage. 

For the kids we have a FREE Children’s area with City, County and Military displays, friendly characters, inflatables, rides, games and much more!  Food and beverages of all types will be available for purchase, the music of the bands, and fun for all ages … it’s all at the Sumter/Shaw Street Fest, Friday night September 25th from 5:30 pm until 10 pm on Main Street in downtown Sumter. It’s the Sumter/Shaw Street Fest presented by Progress Energy and FTC and hosted by the City of Sumter. Parking in rear of Main Street on Harvin St. and Sumter St. 

•  5:30pm to 6:00pm - The Lemira Percussion Ensemble – In front of the Opera House
•  6:00pm – Opening Ceremony
•  6:15pm to 10:00pm – Terence Lonon and the Untouchables & Virtually Unshockable
•  6:00pm to 9:00pm – Children’s area open for Fun! – Main Street
