The purpose of the HOPE Center is to harvest opportunity and promote empowerment through education, job training, cultural and recreational activities. Many programs are offered to the community at no charge, including an annual Community Job Fair. The 2007 Job Fair is scheduled for October 5 from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. at the Birnie Hope Center.
Daily Activities
The HOPE Centers have daily activities available. For special events, please refer to the HOPE Centers Calendar of Events below.
Morning Walkers meet Monday through Friday at the Birnie and North HOPE Centers from 8:00 a.m. to 7 p.m. and at the South HOPE Center until 10:00 a.m. Aerobics class (Monday and Friday, 8-9 a.m.) and Chair Aerobics (Wednesday, 8-9 a.m.) are available at the North Hope Center.
All three HOPE Centers have free after school programs available during the months of June and July, offered through the Sumter County Recreation Department. Call the HOPE Center nearest you for more information.
